Book Proposal Submitted!

After years of percolating ideas, scribbling notes in the margins of teaching handouts, and testing concepts in the studio, I’ve finally done it: I submitted my book proposal.

This project has been slowly taking shape for a long time. It’s a distillation of everything I’ve come to believe about piano technique, injury prevention, and the art (and science) of practicing. In a way, it’s a manifesto—a synthesis of traditions, experiences, and a lot of hard-earned lessons I’ve gathered over the years as a pianist and teacher.

What It’s About

At its core, this book is about helping pianists play with more ease, more awareness, and more joy. I dive into the biomechanics of playing—how to coordinate the body efficiently, how to avoid injury, and how to connect sound production to physical gesture. It also gets into the nitty-gritty of practice: how we build habits, how motor learning actually works, and how to make progress without wasting time or burning out.

It’s written for serious pianists, teachers, and anyone who’s ever asked, “Why does this feel harder than it should?” or “How can I sound better without just practicing more hours?”

Where Things Stand

The proposal is out in the world now, and I’m looking for a publisher who sees the potential in this work. A good chunk of the manuscript is already written, which helped clarify what I really wanted to say—and more importantly, why it matters. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but it feels good to be at this stage. The wheels are turning. I’ll keep you posted as things develop. Thanks to everyone who’s encouraged me to keep writing, questioning, and teaching. I’m excited to share more soon.
